University Student Launch Initiative

2024–2025 Season Archive

What is NASA USLI?

NASA's University Student Launch Initiative (USLI) is a national competition where college teams design, build, and fly reusable high-powered rockets. Over the course of an academic year, selected teams follow a NASA-style engineering review process from proposal through launch.

Why It Matters

The Student Launch Initiative helps prepare the next generation of explorers and engineers. By working on complex aerospace problems, students learn skills they can apply to future missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

LUNAR's 2024–2025 Result

LUNAR submitted a proposal for the 2024–2025 University Student Launch season but was not selected to advance. Our season therefore ended after the proposal stage, before the Preliminary Design Review (PDR).

USLI Competition Timeline

This timeline records the stages LUNAR actually reached during the 2024–2025 season.

Request for Proposal Released

NASA releases the official USLI Request for Proposal (RFP), kicking off the competition season.

Proposal Submission

LUNAR submitted its mission proposal to NASA, outlining the team's goals, structure, and preliminary design.

Proposal Outcome

LUNAR was not selected to advance beyond the proposal stage. No PDR, CDR, FRR, Launch Week, or post-launch review was completed for this season.

2024–2025 Submission

Proposal

LUNAR completed and submitted its season proposal. The proposal was not accepted, so the team did not produce later USLI review documents for this season.

Season concluded after proposal review.
